As a Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF)-compliant access platform, ULAF+ is enriched with a flexible Ethernet First Mile (EFM) implementation. This enhancement allows it to serve a broad range of challenging applications in the promising field of Carrier-grade Ethernet. Native in copper wire as well as in optical infrastructure, ULAF+ carries Ethernet and TDM services over the same physical link. ULAF+ supports any type of Ethernet-over-TDM and TDM-over-Ethernet applications. High revenue time division multiplex (TDM) «circuit emulation service», ULAF+ makes an excellent solution for merging a TDM network into a packetbased backbone.
